![]() ![]() For use with other other cameras without an integrated gyro sensor, a GoPro, a smartphone including a suitable app or a special external sensor can be used as a gyro data logger. Some cameras support the recording of motion data out of the box thanks to an integrated gyro sensor, such as many cameras from Sony (like the A1, A7C, A7R IV, A9 II, FX3/6 or ZV-E10), the action cam GoPro (Hero 5 and higher) or the Insta360 panorama camera. It can do that if parallel to the video data is recorded by means of an integrated (or external) accelerometer, which gives information about the camera movements.Īnd that&s exactly what Gyroflow does, using precise lens calibration, rolling shutter corrections and customizable stabilization algorithms to achieve stabilization that works regardless of lighting conditions or moving subjects.Ī prerequisite for stabilization via Gyroflow is the presence of gyro data recorded in parallel with the video in question. Such stabilization works better if the algorithm knows how the camera moved during the recording - then it can distinguish camera movements from movements in the frame or shake caused by bumps much better. However, the algorithm can also be wrong or not detect such movements well enough to really improve shaky video sequences. If the latter are detected, the respective algorithm tries to stabilize the video by cropping all frames of such a sequence and thus ultimately obtain smooth cinematic shots. an algorithm has to detect which image movements are intentional camera movements of the user, which are independent movements of the image subject and which are unwanted shakes. Normally, post-production video stabilization works by means of a motion analysis of the images (motion estimation), i.e. ![]()
